Greens Report January 2018
January 14 2018
Happy New Year and hopefully members have managed some golf at some point during this spell of bad weather.
We would like to thank Rob Lyndon (Head Greenkeeper) and his staff for the amount of work carried out even during snow days.
The changes on the course have resulted in many positive comments and although we have not seen so much change for a while please be patient because when the course wakes up in Spring we are confident we will see the benefit of raising the canopy on trees and clearing self setters and brambles. Work on the gardens is in progress and the area at the rear of the club is now cleared and looks much better. The gardens near the patio will also be tidied.
Tree felling has caused a lot of debris which is impractical to burn but will be removed mid March when a chipper will be hired for approx two weeks enabling the job to be completed in one go thus reducing costs instead of hiring a machine several times. Remember tree branches awaiting removal are Ground Under Repair.
To enable us to have the course in the playing season that we all want, we must all follow any rules and regulations in place to protect the course.
PLEASE REPAIR ALL PITCH MARKS ON GREENS
KEEP TROLLEYS AND BUGGIES AWAY FROM GREEN SIDE AREAS.
