Sandwell Park Golf Club is keen to develop and support its junior golf section, which includes boys and girls of all ability and including some new to the sport.

The club professional has coached in nearby primary and academy schools to encourage local relationships and our junior section has members as young as eight and juniors play in this category until eighteen.

The 18-hole Championship course hosted the England County Finals in September 2016 and it hosts the Staffordshire County Boys Championship every year. Within the course boundary there is an academy short course for juniors not ready to play the full course yardage, four practice areas including; putting green. Chipping and pitching area, a short iron practice facility and long iron and driving area.

The golf club has Golf Mark accreditation and a junior organiser with an enhanced disclosure barring certificate.

The juniors normally meet on a Sunday afternoon to play or practice and there are junior competitions run throughout the season and with the ‘Order of Merit’ being their major competition. We also have a team that competes in the junior West Midlands League playing home and away against local golf clubs.

We are eager to increase our junior membership and once accepted as a member you have access to the course and facilities seven days a week with just a few exceptions.

The focus of the junior section is to enjoy this wonderful game and play it in the spirit that it is intended to be. The junior section is small but very friendly and the junior captain encourages the integration of all.

West Midlands Junior League
Sandwell Park juniors are through to the regional final after finishing their six games unbeaten! The final match was between Sandwell and South Staffs where both teams had won their five games to date and South Staffs having home advantage and a better win leg ratio. Sandwell won the match 4 to 1 to top their league table.
A massive well done to the following players who competed in the matches. Ethan Stanley (Junior Captain), Noah Birch, Matthew Betty, Romy Bevin, Sam Fletcher, Harvey Mitchell, Caprice Sanders, Kate Smith, George Westwood and Joe (Tiger) Westwood.
It goes without saying, that these juniors wouldn’t have been able to compete without the support of parents getting them to fixtures, the generous support from our team sponsor JPE Aggregates and some supportive Sandwell members. A very warm heart felt thank you, to you all, from me.
